So is anime still cringe now?

im sure most of u know about the situation of being an anime fan 10-20 years ago - youve basically commited social suicide and publicly saying u like anime was like coming out as a **** in the 20th century. the fans during those times had to run so we can walk today LITERALLY, so big shout out to them

fast forward to 2025, alot of people are exposed to anime cos of covid and rather than being cringe its become a cool trendy entertainment...well not exactly...these days if ur into jjk ppl around u get excited but if u say food wars is top tier ecchi ppl give weird looks (ye this happened to me)

it seems like the influx of new watchers have created this weird thing where they avoid shows that give off degen vibes and only like certain anime thats pop and cool. so yah ig thats kinda my long response to the question - its still cringe if u watch the "wrong" type of anime

ty for listening to my history lesson, i'd love to hear ur opinions or if u have any similar experiences
